'Orange is The New Black' Season 4: Ruby Rose Reveals Why She Left Australia

'Orange Is The New Black Star' star Ruby Rose revealed that her big break came after she left Australia as she felt "hated" in there.

Talking to news.com.au at the GQ Awards in Sydney, the 29 year old model said, "I think people were sick of me and I think that I had done everything in Australia that I could do." Before she moved to LA she hosted her own TV show, radio show and had her own clothing line. She also confessed that there are many talented people who worked hard in Australia but still they didn't get the recognition they deserve. She felt that it's time for her to leave as she was overexposed in the country.

"I think maybe in that regard I should have done things differently in my career because I was everywhere. But at the same time, when you're getting those opportunities and that's your dream to do that job, it's really hard to say no, so my relationship when I left was like 'oh my god,' they hate me."

Now that her career has skyrocketed in the US, she is unsure how Australia will embrace her. "I have mixed feelings about that, because I really think that people underestimate you," she confessed.

"As soon as I got Orange (Is The New Black), and as soon as America kind of embraced me, I've had this huge resurgence in Australia and I love that and I love people loving me here again," she added.

Ruby Rose along with her girlfriend Phoebe Dahl came to Sydney over the weekend to receive an award from GQ Australia, who named her as 'Woman of the Year.' And on Tuesday, the starlet attended the annual award ceremony at Merivale's Ivy Ballroom with her mother, Katia Langenheim.

Meanwhile, Ruby will be one of the front cover of the five collector edition of GQ's December issue, according to Australia Network.
