Alanis Morissette Net Worth: Watch Her Sing An Internet-Oriented Update of 'Ironic' [VIDEOS]

Perhaps anyone born in the '90s knows the lyrics to Alanis Morissette's "Ironic" by heart:

"An old man turned ninety-eight / he won the lottery and died the next day / It's a black fly in your Chardonnay / It's a death row pardon two minutes too late / And isn't it ironic... don't you think?"

Alanis Morissette dropped by "The Late Late Show with James Corden" earlier this week, and gave an updated, Internet-appropriate twist to her beloved 1995 hit.

Wearing a red ski hat, a blue sweater and braids as a nod to the original music video, Alanis Morissette was inevitably joined by a similarly dressed James Corden to sing:

"An old friend send you a Facebook request / and you only find out they're racist after you accept / It's free office cake on the first day of your diet / It's like they announce a new iPhone the day after you buy it."

We're prett sure everyone can totally relate to that last line.

Today's Internet-dependent culture was definitely the source of inspiration for Morissette's "Ironic" reboot. The Guardian reports:

"Web companies and technology were the main source of Morissette's present-day peeves, singing about the trials and tribulations of using Netflix, Amazon, Twitter, Uber, and 'a Snapchat that you wish you had saved.'

"Morissette also took a jab at herself with the line: 'It's singing ironic but there are no ironies,' addressing a long-standing gripe that the original song does not actually illustrate ironic situations."

Watch the hilarious updated version of Alanis Morissette's "Ironic" in the video below.

"Ironic" was the third single off her 1995 album, "Jagged Little Pill." The singer's third studio album celebrated its 20th anniversary just this year.

Not only that, but it sold 30 million copies around the world, and instantly transformed Alanis Morissette into the fastest-selling females of the 90s era.
