Thor: Ragnarok Casting Update- Shocking Twist On Characters Is Ahead

After the first Thor film came out, it was a blockbuster and a lot of fans are now waiting for its installment. There have been rumors about Thor having a new villain and Ragnarok might just not be it according to The Inquisitr. A lot of fans are hoping that character would battle the mighty Thor, but sorry to disappoint because it would appear that a female antagonist might be in line.

The word is out there that Tilda Swinton is being cast now as Thor's nemesis to play the Ancient One. Apparently, the producers and casting directors have a different plan on this character that was originally an Asian male. It wouldn't be a surprise if this happens because this is not the first time that Marvel did a twist to their characters since they did it back in Iron Man 3.

Another female superhero might also join in the plot and it is the character Valkyrie. All these news about casting was brought by a publication called Lainey Gossip when they wrote, "Marvel is also planning on bringing their first major female villain into their cinematic universe." This is why information regarding the Ancient One being a female antagonist now has been spreading all over the Internet.

Meanwhile, fans of Mark Ruffalo would be happy to know that he is the new addition to the Thor: Ragnarok project. This is probably why he won't be present on the next installment of Captain America, which is called Civil War. Ruffalo will reprise his role as the Hulk.

All of this casting news are still not confirmed, as the film company and Marvel has not released any official statement just yet. IGN also added to this casting rumor saying Cate Blanchett is up for a villain role.
