Natalie Portman's Film Premiere Cancelled Following Terrorist Attacks in Paris

Natalie Portman's new film premiere of 'Jane Got a Gun' in Paris was called off following the deadly terrorist attacks in the city that claimed more than 100 lives and injured numerous people.

Mars Films confirmed that the press junket in France to promote the film along with its premiere have been cancelled. The Oscar winning actress' scheduled appearance and junket interviews on Monday in Paris was cancelled too.

"Because of the events (Friday) night, we are canceling TV appearances, junket and preview appearances with Natalie Portman Nov. 15-16," the film distributor said in a statement, as per Fox News.

Portman, who just moved to Paris earlier this year after her husband Benjamin Millepied became a Director of Dance at the Paris Opera Ballet hasn't release any further details yet about the cancellation.

Aside from Portman there are other famous artists who have cancelled their shows, including Foo Fighters and U2. "We watched in disbelief and shock at the unfolding events in Paris and our hearts go out to all the victims and their families across the city tonight," the band said in a statement. U2 said they will perform "at an appropriate time." Adding, "We are devastated at the loss of life at the Eagles of Death Metal concert and our thoughts and prayers are with the band and their fans. And we hope and pray that all of our fans in Paris are safe."

On Friday, at least 129 people were killed by the suicide bombers at France's national stadium, shooting at the cafes and a hostage taking incident at the Bataclan venue, where the Eagles of Death Metal was performing at that time. It was reported that 80 revelers were killed by the terrorists inside the hall during the attack.

After the horrific terrorist attacks a lot of high profile events in the city were cancelled including the premiere of Tom Hank's new movie, 'Bridge of Spies.'
