Marvel 'Ant-Man and the Wasp': Michael Douglas Excited

It's not only The Wasp that will be returning to Ant-Man. You'll be seeing Hank Pym, in it too! Michael Douglas will be returning in the Marvel Sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp

Douglas has been in touch with Marvel Studios and they're already negotiating for a sequel. "I just got a call - they want to negotiate for a sequel and I thought, 'That's great!'" he said.

He is clearly excited for the sequel set to be released in 2018 and he welcomes it wholly.

He'll be reprising his role as Hank Pym. He'll continue to mentor Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd) as the next and current Ant Man. And what about the Wasp? Well. he is  the father of Hope Van Dyne (played by Evangeline Lilly). So, that mostly means he'll be worried about her safety alot.

The sequel is a response to the popularity of Hope and the last teasing scene in the first movie where Hope was presented with the Wasp costume which leads to everyone thinking - Will Hope wear the suit, be a super hero and follow her mother's footsteps?

So, Ant-Man and the Wasp is obviously not a solo movie. Scott has to shrink a little bit just to make room for Hope being the Wasp.

"Hopefully, I won't have to carry quite as much expositional dialogue as the first one, but I had a wonderful time doing it", he said in an interview with Collider. He added that the cast was fantastic and he even thought that Corey Stoll could also be in it if Marvel wants him.

Douglas is clearly open to returning and we'll get to see that in Ant-Man and the Wasp which is scheduled to hit theatres on July 6, 2018. Peyton Reed will still direct this sequel.

Fun fact: This is the first Marvel joint to feature a female hero's name in the title.
