Gabrielle Union to Launch New 'Vanilla Puddin' Wine

Actress Gabrielle Union has joined the list of celebrity vintners.

According to New York Daily News, the "Being Mary Jane" actress launched a new wine called Vanilla Puddin' Chardonnay, which she describes as a "fun Chardonay with hints of vanilla, super yummy and great for all occasions," on her Instagram page.

The Vanilla Puddin' Wine is said to have features of pears, light French Oak and white chocolate with dollops of vanilla. Union reportedly collaborated with Jam Cellars CEO John Truchard and Brand Elite in California's Napa Valley. The website says the wine is fun, elegant, stylish and approachable.

"This full bodied Chardonnay has aromas of caramelized apple, pineapple and butterscotch," Vanilla Puddin website stated. "Nuances of vanilla coming from the oak contact are abundant. On the palate, the wine is grippy and weighty. The vanilla, coming from a hefty dose of oak, is front and center and intermingles with the caramelized apple and butterscotch."

This is the first wine creation for the 41-year-old actress, who will join a growing list of celebrity vintners, who own vineyards or produce wine, including Drew Barrymore, Dave Matthews, Francis Ford Coppola, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Sting and Fergie from The Black Eyed Peas.

"So excited about my new wine @vanillapuddinwine," the actress wrote on Instagram along with a collage of related photos.

The Daily News reported that the bottles of wine that have been aging since 2012. During an interview with Chelsea Lately talk show last month, Union mentioned that she had plans to serve her wine to the guests attending her upcoming nuptials with basketball star Dwayne Wade.

Each 750 ml bottle will be going to retail for $16.99 and will become available on the US market starting Monday, March 17.
