'Prometheus' Sequel, 'Alien: Covenant' Synopsis Revealed

Previously, Ridley Scott's sequel was titled Alien: Paradise Lost, but in recent news, the film will now be called Alien: Covenant. 20th Century Fox Studio confirms the official title and synopsis.

In a tweet by 20th Century Fox, the studio announced the sequel's official release. With the Twitter handle @20thCenturyFox, the studio stated: Ridley Scott returns to direct Alien: Covenant, the next installment in the #Alien franchise. In theaters 10/6/17. pic.twitter.com/GGp1axmfTs

The announcement also inlcuded the official synopsis that sounds so alien and Prometheus-inspired.

Ridley Scott returns to the ALIEN universe and presents us with Alien: Covenant. The second installment is connected with the original Prometheus. The synopsis stated, "... bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is uncharted paradise but is actually a dark and dangerous world." The twist? The only inhabitant of the planet is a "synthetic" David played by Michael Fassbender - the survivor of the Prometheus mission. Remember that adventure-filled and futuristic expedition? So, expect deceipt maybe? And a lot of hidden agendas? How different or close would it be to the first movie since David is in on the fun?

The connection between the original and the sequel promises an Alien filled core. What would the deep end bring? More universal secrets uncovered.

But is Elizabeth Shaw coming back? She is the other survivor from the initial expedition. Who knows!  Noomi Rapace, who played Shaw, might be joining the Covenant crew and clashes with David. Again, who knows. We'll get to know more soon. The sequel will hopefully be clearly defined because the initial problem was the sometimes contradictory and confusing Alien over-laps.

The now officially confirmed movie title, Alien: Covenant, is scheduled to be released in theaters in October 6, 2017, in a report by EW.
