Will Smith Stands up for Truth in 'Concussion' - [VIDEO]

There are risks and consequences in most sports. But in football, the potential risk of head trauma, the repeated kind, in football players is a hidden truth. And Dr. Bennet Omalu, played by Will Smith, will uncover this truth and expose what would be the secret that would change the course of American professional football.

In the upcoming film, Concussion, Omalu claims he is standing up for the truth. He takes care of the dead and he needs to tell their stories as to how they died. What he will find will expose a disease that is not only physical but psychological in the world of football. If this is exposed, it will mean the end of football and mothers won't be able to let their children play football ever.

In this exclusive clip Omalu talks to Dr. Julian Bailes, played by Alec Baldwin and Dr. Joseph Maroon, played by Arliss Howards to discuss his latest findings. The conversation, instead of going the positive direction, steered to the dark side when Maroon sarcastically fired back at Omalu "Do you have any idea of the impact of what you're doing?"

Omalu bluntly answers, "Yes, I do." See their heated exchange here.

FoodWorldNews previously reported that tackling in football is a safety concern in children and young adults practicing football. The study from a pediatrics group claims that parents should be responsible for the risks their children are exposed to in playing football especially when it comes to tackling where they suggest that they tackle with the shoulders and not with their heads. Something Omalu saw when trying to understand why the veteran football player died. "They attack with their heads," he said in the trailer.

However, the pediatrics group issued a double edged statement urging parents to let their children play in order to get more experience because being on the field with lesser experience would be harmful for the children. Which one is it? To tackle or not to tackle? Well, parents and football players - it's up to you. Maybe use your shoulders instead.

Tell the truth. That's what Will would do.
