Could Corey Stoll's Yellowjacket Possibly Return In 'Ant-Man And The Wasp?'

Michael Douglas may have confirmed that he'd like to see an established villain make a comeback in the Marvel sequel 'Ant-Man and the Wasp!"

'Ant-Man' was understandably the unexpected hit of the year that featured Paul Rudd as Scott Lang and Evangeline Lilly as the feisty Hope van Dyn. The movie received so much positive response that Marvel decided to produce a sequel.

In an interview with Collider, Michael Douglas confirmed that he has been contacted about reprising his role as Hank Pym although he had originally only signed on for one film.

"Hopefully, I won't have to carry quite as much expositional dialogue as the first one but I had a wonderful time doing it. Just a great, great time. The cast was fantastic," Douglas said, adding that he was looking forward to working with the same people again. "Paul, Evangeline, Michael Pena - I'm sure he'll be back."

Michael Douglas also commented on the resurrection of Yellowjacket in the sequel.

"If they can scrape Corey Stoll off the wall, I'm sure they'll want him too - he's such a good villain," he said.

But could Darren Cross possibly survive the continuous shrinking of the Yellowjacket suit? Although it is highly unlikely that 'Ant-Man and the Wasp' will mark the return of the villain, Corey Stoll might still make an appearance in a flashback scene.

Although he may not return as Yellowjacket in the 'Ant-Man' sequel, this doesn't mean that Corey Stoll will be out of work any time soon. The star of 'The Strain' has recently appeared as Fred Wyshak in 'Black Mass' and is currently shooting three different movies (including another Woody Allen film), which are all due out on 2016.

And even if Corey Stoll doesn't return as Darren Cross in 'Ant-Man and the Wasp,' most of the original team will still be on board. It has recently been confirmed that director Peyton Reed will also helm the sequel.

'Ant-Man and the Wasp' is scheduled for release on July 6, 2018.
