Darby Stanchfield, who plays Abby Whelan in the hit ABC drama, 'Scandal' secretly tied the knot in recent months, according to PEOPLE. She confirmed the news by simply saying "I'm very happy."
The 44 year old actress who appeared in numerous TV series, including 'Mad Men' and 'Jericho' and hit the big screens with movies 'The Picture Of Dorian Gray' and 'Waitress' was reportedly married for "quite a while," a source revealed to Us Weekly. Although the name of her husband remained confidential.
The Alaskan native actress has remained guarded on her personal life over the years. Though she belongs to the world of celebrities she still managed to keep her personal life from the media, including her recent nuptials.
But back in 2013 she gushed about her happiness in life during an interview with Shape. "When I'm grateful for all the blessings, it puts away all the stress about things not in my control," she said at that time. "Things like long hours, aging, pollution, scandals ... it helps me create perspective by just focusing on being grateful. Take that moment twice a day with yourself."
This is not the first time a 'Scandal' star got involved in a secret wedding. Two years ago Kerry Washington or better known as Olivia Pope in the hit series also married San Francisco 49ers corner back Nnamdi Asomugha.
According to PEOPLE, the couple tied the knot in Hailey, Idaho on June 24 and witnesses were listed as her parents.
Washington has kept her personal life increasingly in secret since her split from fiancé David Moscow back in 2007 after many years of dating. Shortly after the split, she told PEOPLE, "I am totally the girl who gets introduced to someone through a mutual friend and a dinner party, falls in love and then is with them for like two years."
