Ryan Gosling: Rambo in New Franchise? Here’s Everything We Know [PLOT, CAST & RUMORS]

Sylvester Stallone just revealed that he wants Ryan Gosling to play the next "Rambo" in a future reboot.

"Creed," according to Movie Web, appears like an interesting reboot of the Rocky franchise since it's not introducing a new actor in the mix. Instead, Rocky 7 presents a sequel/standalone film where Stallone still gets to play the Italian Stallion Rocky Balboa and Michael B. Jordan is instead introduced as Apollo Creed's son, Adonis.

According to Cinema Blend, Sylvester Stallone is handing over the franchise to Michael B. Jordan, albeit indirectly, by having Jordan become a boxer in training who's seeking out Rocky for training and mentorship.

During the promotion of "Creed," Cinema Blend asked Stallone who he wants to cast for his other iconic roles. 1982's John Rambo was included in the mix, and Stallone had an eccentric choice - Ryan Gosling.

Following the Stallone reveal, the website had the opportunity to chat with Ryan Gosling about his role in the comedy, "The Big Short." Of course, Stallone's "Rambo" reveal was mentioned, and needless to say, Gosling was left stunned.

Being a Stallone fan, Gosling didn't believe it at first. Check out the actor's reaction below:

Gosling didn't say whether he would actually consider the role of Rambo, but he did complement Sylvester Stallone.

"That Would be incredible. He is one of my favorite actors. The fact that he knows my name is exciting. He's the best. I'm genuinely touched that the said that. If you're lying you're an awful person," Ryan said.

Stallone's decision does make sense when analysed. According to Movie Web, Ryan Gosling is akin to the Rambo in the books than the movies, but Stallone seems to be confident with his answer since he reportedly shared an excerpt of the video on his own page.

While all this seems like good news, there's a catch however. Apparently, there are no actual plans of a "Rambo" reboot any time soon. In addition, while Stallone had reportedly been hinting at a "Rambo 5," he wants to be in the starring role.

According to Movie Web, Stallone recently tweeted that he is writing a "Rambo 5" screenplay, tentatively called "Rambo: Last Blood." There have been several reports that suggest Stallone wants to star in one more John Rambo role. However, even if the reports are true, he is currently busy with "Expendables."

In any case, if Ryan Gosling do get offered and accept the role of "Rambo," he still has time physically prepare. It remains unknown when filming of "Rambo: Last Blood" will begin.
