Is Sea Salt Better than Regular Table Salt?

Hawaiian black lava, Himalayan pink, Bolivian rose, Peruvian Pink Mountain Spring may sound like nail polishes' names, but they are actually the different varieties of salt. These are just samples of an array of salts that consumers can choose from when it becomes available to public on selected specialty markets and online sellers.

Sea salts and other finishing salts have become popular over the years. Chefs and foodies use them to make their presentation more interesting by adding exciting new flavors and a pop of color that make the dishes look much more appealing to customers. They offer more complexity than just the normal table salt, which is usually processed to remove minerals and other harmless contaminant, giving the salt its bright white color and uniform texture.

However, this is more than just a trend for artistic people; this type of salt also adds more flavor and enthusiasts claim that sea salt is in fact healthier because it's more natural and unprocessed. Sea salt is also recognized for having a good amount of essential minerals we normally don't get from regular white salt because of the processing it undergoes.

The supposed benefit of using sea salts more often apparently don't just stop there. Experts promise that sea salts can remove toxins, balance the body's pH, improve your circulation, enhance digestive system, and provide antioxidants.

Unfortunately, these claims aren't supported by science so many consumers are confused about these. Specialty salt purveyors, which are people who sells or deals in particular goods, are apparently leading customers to believe that since the product is natural, then it's good for them.

However, from a health perspective, salt will always be salt and having too much of that in any form can cause a tremendous increase risk of having a high blood pressure and other deteriorating health problems.

Experts also claim that salt is in fact not a good source of minerals like what was claimed. They contain a tiny amount of minerals like, calcium, magnesium and potassium that doesn't really do anything for our body.
