KFC Debuts its ‘Chicken Corsage’ For Prom Season (VIDEO)

With prom around the corner, KFC is leading a helping hand in recreating the traditional corsage,

ABC News reported that KFC has partnered up with Nanz & Kraft, a Louisville, Ky.-based florist, to sell chicken drumstick corsages this prom season. According to Nanz and Kraft, the corsage "will make your date's eyes light up and her mouth water."

The chicken corsage is composed of baby's breath flowers and pieces of Original Recipe, Extra Crispy or Kentucky Grilled Chicken. A new viral ad campaign was uploaded on YouTube on April 9 to introduce the product and has been viewed more than 250,000 times.

"Love can be awkward," the ad says. "Make it less awkward by surprising your date with a corsage that will make her eyes light up and her mouth water."

Customers can order the corsage online. According to the New York Daily News, only 100 chicken corsages are available. KFC suggests that its crispy "Chicken Corsage" should be used by high school students to ask their sweetheart to prom.

Rick Maynard, a KFC spokesman there has already been 20 orders for the accessory and even a request from a wedding party in Kentucky.

"We'll probably end up catering that one just so guests don't end up eating the corsages," said Maynard.

The corsages cost $20 and include a $5 KFC gift check to purchase the chicken, because the drumstick is not included in the offer. "You can customize your corsage with Original Recipe, Extra Crispy or Kentucky Grilled Chicken. Whichever best matches her dress," the Nanz & Kraft website reads.
