Jennifer Lawrence Missing in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 Israeli Posters

As The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 movie hit theatres all over the world, the public saw Jennifer Lawrence 's face everywhere, on TV trailers, on YouTube trailers, on huge billboards and posters. In Israel though, one crucial thing was missing. In the promotional materials, specifically the posters, the picture of Jennifer Lawrence herself as Katniss Everdeen was removed.

According to The Guardian, the picture of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen has been removed in all posters and replaced instead with a mockingjay. One representative from the movie's PR department in Israel shared that posters with female images were not allowed in Bnei Brak while public posters which had images of women were often taken down in Jerusalem.

Yahoo! News even added that in these two suburbs posters with female images in them are often vandalized while in Bnei Brak it is actually considered offensive to have these public images. It is because of these reasons that the PR company decided to go with this course of action, to be more careful and avoid these from incidences from happening. Other cities in Israel though have the same standard poster of the movie.

The movie is the last instalment to The Hunger Games movie franchise, ending the four-part series. Based on the book by Suzanne Collins, the movie adaptation drew fans of the books and new fans of the movie as well which contributed to its huge success. According to Cinema Blend, while Mockingjay Part 1 didn't stay 100% to the first half of the book with its own renovations, Mockingjay Part 2 is said to have stayed almost completely true to the second half of the book with only a few changes made.

As of Thursday, the movie has already garnered $16 million in sales according to Forbes. This landed the movie at the third spot in this year's biggest movie debuts falling behind Avengers: Age of Ultron and Jurassic World.
