Kristin Chenoweth Celebrates National Adoption Day, Posting Her Life Testimony

Kristin Chenoweth is not ashamed of being adopted. She never let it affect her great success.

The multitalented lady wrote a short essay which describes how she dealt about being adopted and published it on her WhoSay account on Friday.

The successful 47-year-old in the entertainment industry wanted to emphasize her experience in order to help public awareness for National Adoption Day.

According to her, the adoption has not been hidden from her. 'I knew that my birth mother loved me so much that she wanted to give me a better life. And my parents, Jerry and Junie Chenoweth, were looking to adopt a baby and found me-literally less than one week after I was born,' she said.

She also defends those mothers that came up into a decision of putting their child for adoption by saying, 'It's a blessing (and a huge sacrifice) for a birth parent to make the decision to give his/her baby a better life. Sometimes people can't take care of that baby just yet. (And their circumstances might change in 15 years.)'

The glee star also gives some advices to the parents and their adoptees. 'If you're thinking about adopting a child, remember that it's a gift you're getting and it comes with just as much responsibility as if you had your child biologically,' she said.

'As an adopted child-I encourage other adoptees to remember what blessed lives we have. We weren't abandoned; we were chosen. We were given a chance,' she continued.

The Broadway star also revealed that she would also adopt if ever she were to have a child. On the question if she wants to look for her biological parents, she just replied that she 'already had her parents'.

The Muppet star pursues information about adoption and also breast cancer awareness. During summer, the Glee star was privileged with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star, revealed on her 47th birthday.
