Is Jon Snow Alive? Fans Regain Hope For Kit Harington With New ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 Poster And Release Date

Last spring, the fifth season of "Game of Thrones" ended with the scare of all scares, as one of the show's most popular characters, Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington) was seen bleeding to death, supposedly having passed away after being stabbed numerously by the brothers of the Night's Watch - and now, months later, hope that Jon Snow's alive comes back to life as if relived by the Lord of Light.

For months on end, cast and crew members of the popular HBO epic fantasy show have been asked time and again whether Jon Snow's alive, and the answer has invariably remained the same, as they all repeated that in fact the character's dead, though the new poster for the sixth season might be evidence to the contrary.

According to Wired, the latest poster for the show's upcoming season, which reveals that it will be out next April, features only the bloody face of Harington's character, visibly shaken but with his eyes open, awakening hope that Jon Snow's alive.

The Guardian calls Jon Snow's alive status "the worst-kept secret in television," after months of speculation from all over the world (plus Harington being seen on set during filming for the series' next season) and numerous fan theories regarding how he could be brought alive by Red Priestess Melisandre (Carice Van Houten) or some other character.

Here are a few indications of why the new poster of the show could mean that Jon Snow's alive, via Tech Insider: while on the poster the character's face is covered in blood, the last time we saw the Lord Commander he had been stabbed in the chest and stomach, so this could be an indication of his new liaison with the color red through the Red Priestess; also, Jon's wearing a fur coat in the poster, which he wasn't in the last scene of the fifth season.

In any case, it seems there's a good chance that Jon Snow's alive!
