San Diego Cannabis: 12 Overdose On ‘Spice’ Synthetic Marijuana In California, Including 13 Year-Old

A bad batch of marijuana in the Plymouth of the West has endangered he lives of 12 people so far, as at least three locations in the California city have been reported as having people suffering from a bad San Diego cannabis reaction.

The city's Fire Rescue received calls from at least a dozen sick people from San Diego cannabis last Sunday alone, as victims from a bad batch of synthetic marijuana, called "spice," experienced overdose symptoms from bloody noses to even seizures, as apparently the manufactured substance can vary in strengths depending on who makes it, leading to these disastrous results in this particular case.

Tech Times reports that the San Diego cannabis incidents occurred near the city0s 6th Avenue and C Street downtown, and the police and fire departments are currently working together to find the people responsible for this dangerous strain of marijuana.

According to Fox News, the city's police told the media that this badge of synthetic San Diego cannabis was being sold in black packages with a blue dragon design on the side, and for now, authorities are trying to track down the victims and witnesses to trace the strain, which was sold around downtown San Diego.

According to The Monitor Daily, the strain that has caused this San Diego cannabis scare, "spice" or "K2," was considered a safe alternative to the drug up and safe for consumption until July 2012; however, due to the fact that it comes in a huge myriad of size and shapes, it's difficult to tell whether the amounts used are safe.

There are different names for this synthetic drug, including, aside the aforementioned ones, Black Mamba, Spice Diamond, Skunk, Ganja and Yucatan Fire and while it seems initially the symptoms are similar to consuming natural marijuana, over time these symptoms can worsen and include graver ones like falling into a coma, panic attacks and projectile vomit.

An investigation on the San Diego cannabis cases is still pending.
