The Juuni Ban is now the Guinness Books of Worlds Record holder of the most expensive hotdog. How much does this hotdog cost? According to the Independent, it is about $169 USD. The creator of this expensive hotdog is Tokyo Dogs - a Fusion food restaurant based in Japan.

Juuni Ban snatched the world record from "California Capitol City Dawg" which was created in Sacramento, California. It cost at least $145 USD.

It took the Japanese food fusion restaurant at least six months for their hotdog application to be approve by the people at the Guinness Book of Worlds Record.

What are the Ingredients?

The hotdog is a foot long. Inside the brioche bun is a cheese bratwurst smoke in the traditional fashion. The toppings include grilled onions, buttered teriyaki, Japanese mayonnaise, wagyu beef, foie gras, maitake mushrooms, black truffles and - caviar.

How Long is The Delivery Time?

Apparently, they don't deliver in 30 minutes or less. Hungry buyers would need to give notice two weeks in advance in order for the restaurant to serve this hotdog loaded with a smorgasbord of expensive but tasty ingredients.

Owner Interview

Company owner Eugene Woo gave a statement to the local reporters. He said, "It's an amazing hotdog - it is savory and tastes fabulous. We didn't want to just throw together a load of ingredients, but instead put some real research into it. There was a lot of trial and error to make it a really awesome hotdog."

The Juuni Ban is a creation of three persons namely - Eugene Woo, Samson Kwong, and Rocky Weh. It took the three creators at least a year to find the right hotdog recipe.

First Buyers

California resident, Alan Chang is the first lucky customer of this hotdog. He was followed by four more customers. Tokyo Dog later donated the sales proceed to the local Red Cross.
