Chris Martin Debuts New Coldplay Track 'Everglow,' Featuring Gwyneth Paltrow

Coldplay co-founder Chris Martin has just released his new song "Everglow" featuring his former wife Gwyneth Paltrow just days before the release of his band's new material "A Head Full of Dreams", according to reports.

Martin's new track "Everglow" is a soulful piano ballad from the band's upcoming album and Gwyneth Paltrow has contributed a very slight background vocals on the track, as previously detailed by the singer-songwriter.

When asked about his inspiration while doing his new material, Martin said, "I was in the ocean one day with this surfer guy, who spoke just like you'd imagine a surfer guy to speak. This guy spoke like Sean Penn's character from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. He was like, 'Yo dude, I was doing this thing the other day man, it gave me this total everglow!"

The 38-year old musician went on to say that his encounter with the man gave him the idea about the music he could make, as he said "I was like, 'What an amazing word.' Then the song came completely out, and to me, it's about whether it's a loved one or a situation or a friend or a relationship that's finished or someone's passed away."

He added, "I was really thinking about, after you've been through the sadness of something, you also get this everglow. That's what it's about."

Before the official release of the new track, Martin had previously talked about the song and what is it all about. He described "Everglow' as something "about a relationship's enduring spark", while he hasn't revealed who was his inspiration behind the beautifully written lyrics of the song,  some of his fans think that the song was made for somebody really special.

"We just did it in the studio one day. It was just a friendly kind of thing." Martin explained.

Reports say that Gwyneth Paltrow is not the only guest to appear on the band's "A Head Full of Dreams." Other artists to be featured on the new LP include Beyonce, Tove Lo, Noel Gallagher, Blue Ivy Carter and Martin's children.

Coldplay's "A Head Full of Dreams" is set to be released on December 4, Friday.
