‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Spoilers & Rumors: Rey And Finn’s Identities Revealed? Luke Skywalker’s Whereabouts & More!

WARNING: POTENTIAL "STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS" AHEAD!

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" release date is getting nearer and nearer, and right now speculations regarding the highly-anticipated film is the topic on almost all corners of the internet.

First, The Facts

Lucasfilm Producer Kathleen Kennedy has revealed that the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" setting takes place 30 years after the Battle of Endor, which ended "Return of the Jedi" in 1983.

As such, the old cast - Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (Han Solo) and Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa) - were asked to reprise their roles and fortunately, they all agreed.

As for the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" plot, co-screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan told Wired in an interview that the franchise and the film exists in "its own genre."

According to a previous report from The Inquisitr, Kasdan is also co-writer on Han Solo's standalone film, which will explore the life of the smuggler in his younger days, and is expected for release May 25, 2018.

The Rumors

First up is the mystery of Luke Skywalker's whereabouts since he wasn't visible in any promotions for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

Earlier this years, a Luke Skywalker photo leaked showing a heavily-bearded Mark Hamill in a robe. There have been many rumors about Luke, but perhaps the most famous one is that he turned evil, which many speculated since he was spotted filming on the remote Micheal Skellig island in Ireland last summer.

Since Luke Skywalker's father, Anakin, was famous for turning into the evil villain Darth Vader in the first "Star Wars" series, it wouldn't be too far-fetched if Luke had indeed gone rogue.

Next is the "Star Wars" mystery of Rey's (Daisy Ridley) identity. Abrams recently said that he intended not to reveal Rey and Finn's (John Boyega) last names a secret as a surprise to viewers when their identities are finally revealed. Rumors about Rey claim that she's the daughter of Han Solo and Leia, who abandoned her to protect her, much like what Luke went through as a child so he would be protected from Vader.

There's also the mystery of Finn, known as a renegade Stormtrooper who goes with Rey in her battles. A recent "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" spoiler from Cinema Blend revealed that Finn could be Lando Calrissian's (Billy Dee Williams) son, since a puzzle on Amazon unintentionally (?) titled its merchandise "Finn, Lano Calrissian's son." If this is indeed true, there's still the mystery of Finn's mother.

Meanwhile, another big "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" spoiler is that Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) could also be the son of Han and Leia, since the comic book plot tells they have three children, according to The Inquisitr. He is suspected to be Rey's evil twin.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is set for release December 18, 2015.
