Supergirl CBS Television Series Picked Up for Full Season, Is There a Second Season?

Good news Supergirl fans! You'll be seeing more of Kara Zor-El as she continues to save snakes up on trees and fight alien criminals.

According to CBS, the heroine television series has been picked up for a full season. Supergirl currently scores 11.24 viewers with a 2.8 in the coveted 18-49 adults demographic. That's definitely a good sign as our heroine continues to earn her place as a superhero and make a name for herself without the help of her oh-so famous cousin.

Melissa Benoist, who plays the lead alien Kara Zor-El in Supergirl, appears to have done a good job in portraying Kara who has come out of hiding from her alien super abilities in an effort to help her city. The DC Comics adaptation has received an order from CBS to queue seven more episodes. We can chalk up this new order as another victory for our heroine.

Traditionally, the pick-up would hail nine episodes but CBS is not following the traditional route because of Supergirl's late start date.

And it's not only Supergirl that gets picked up for a full season. The new-comers are to receive additional show orders as well. They include Limitless, Code Black, Life and Pieces.

This victory is also a huge deal for CBS being the only comic book inspired series on the network's slate. The series is also a step in the right direction in the quest for more female leads. Executive Producer Greg Berlanti is sure to be all smiles right now for this great news. Berlanti also executive produces Arrow and The Flash.

There is no word yet if there will be a second season, but we can see positive sun rays in the horizon.

Watch out for Supergirl which airs on Mondays at 8:00 PM ET via CBS, reports confirmed.
