His character leaving the show is a bit of a shock for a lot of people since just this year, he made an announcement that his contract with the show just got extended. Now, for some reason, his character Brady is going through some tough time involving alcoholism. Apparently, his contract with the show was only for a short period just so he could finally exit well from his character.
There are many speculations about how his character, as Eric Brady might end and since he has been drinking lately, the easiest guess was that he would be involved in a car accident because he was driving under the influence of alcohol. It is not just him who will soon be gone from the show, it turns out that Shawn Christian is also next in line. This would mean that Daniel's character is also going to be out and according to some promo teaser; his character would succumb to something.
Vaughan on the other hand had something to say about his character's exit and it would appear that he might leave on a positive note. He said that Eric Brady leaving the storyline is for a good creative reason for both the show and the character. This could mean that his character won't just diet, but it might be headed to a good place. It could be something about a promotion from his job or just venturing into a new life.
