Pepsico-owned Mountain Dew has long been one of America's favorite sodas, often associated with the geek culture, and millions of people all over the country love to get a taste of this refreshing beverage - but will the Mountain Dew wings be as popular as the sugary drink they're based on?

Popular casual dining chain Buffalo Wild Wings has just announced their Sauce Lab has come up with an exotic new flavor, based on one of the most beloved sugary drinks out there: now, patrons will be able to get a Mountain Dew wings sauce with their chicken while they're watching the game.

According to Grub Street, the restaurant chain launches new sauce flavors for their chicken wings every few months, and through a press release, they announced that the next in line was the Mountain Dew wings sauce, officially called the Zesty Citrus Sauce, which will be a mix of different flavors with the soft drink among them.

Refinery29 reports that, aside from the popular soft drink, this Mountain Dew wings sauce will include "lemongrass, ginger, soy sauce, red peppers " to accompany the flavor, in a new experiment that will be order separately from the key chicken wings for your meal at the sports bar chain.

According to Bloomberg, this new Mountain Dew wings sauce is part of a growing trend in restaurants all over the country, as chains are increasingly adding new and more exotic flavors to their sauces to entice customers belonging to the "Millennial" generation, with fried chicken chains also joining this new trend.

Chick-Fil-A recently launched a spicy sauce based on Sriracha, while Popeyes Luisiana Kitchen recently got a red hot honey sauce in October and KFC launched a new signature sauce based on their secret chicken recipe.

In any case, the new Mountain Dew wings sauce will be available all over the country starting on December 14.
