U2 Shares Stage with Eagles of Death Metal during Paris Concert

"These are our brothers.." U2 lead singer Bono announced right before Eagles of Death Metal came out on stage.

Eagles of Death Metal joined U2 in their own concert in Paris on Monday night. One of the first concerts performed in the city, just weeks after the attack in Paris on November 13 where 89 people were killed.

As a suprise, Bono presented the Eagles of Death Metal with a heart felt introduction. "They were robbed of their stage three weeks ago, and we would like to offer them ours tonight."

U2 was scheduled to perform an HBO concert special on November 14 and 15 but rescheduled their concert after the attack. U2 was only one, out of the many artists who cancelled or rescheduled their performances due to the terrorist strike on Paris.

Bono was referring to the terrorist attack on Le Bataclan in Paris on November 13 where Eagles of Death Metal performed that night. Eighty nine people were killed at that time out of the 130 dead across Paris. Sadly, one of the people killed during the terrorist strike was Nick Alexander, EODM's band merchandise manager.

Bono went on to say... "So much was taken from Paris on the tragic night of November 13 is irreplaceable".

U2 has been very vocal about the strike in support of the people of Paris and EODM, preparing a candlelight vigil as well as purchasing new mobile phones for the EODM band members. "... The killers took lives, took music, took peace of mind but they couldn't steal the spirit of that city".

Previously, reports indicated that U2 denied that EODM would perform with them on Sunday night. In a twist, the surpise showed up on Monday night instead.

The HBO concert recording airs on Monday night at 9 PM ET.
