Abigail Breslin 2015: Nobody Puts ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ In A Corner On ‘Dirty Dancing’ ABC Remake!

Oscar-nominated actress Abigail Breslin has come a long way since playing the adorable children's beauty pageant contestant Olive Hoover in "Little Miss Sunshine," and she's never stopped being active in film ever since, co-starring with some of the biggest names in show business - and to end Abigail Breslin's 2015, she's just been cast in the lead role of a new "Dirty Dancing" remake!

The latest Abigail Breslin 2015 news sees the 19 year-old star about to have the time of her life: it has just been revealed that Breslin will be starring in an upcoming musical adaptation of the 1987 classic that turned Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze into the world's favorite movie couple.

According to Vulture, the TV movie that has just cast Abigail Breslin in 2015 will be a reimagination of the beloved 80s flick, which tells the story of Baby (Grey) who falls in love with her dance instructor (Swayze) at a summer family resort, with her family widely disapproving of the relationship.

Variety reports that the new Abigail Breslin 2015 project will be a co-production between Lionsgate V and Allison Shearmur Productions; so far, few names are attached to the TV movie, but it's known that "American Horror Story" writer Jessica Sharzer will be penning the scrip and "The Sapphires" Wayne Blaire will direct the movie.

According to Deadline, the upcoming TV movie will certainly tell the same story as the 1987 film, unlike the 2004 sequel "Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights," which took a similar idea and turned it to something else, placing the two leads (in that case, Romola Garai and Diego Luna) in revolutionary Cuba.

This has proven to be a great year for the young actress, as Abigail Breslin's 2015 saw her co-starring with Arnold Schwarzenegger on "Magie" and with West Bentley on "Final Girl" - and, most notoriously, she's also part of the all-star cast of the latest Ryan Murphy show, "Scream Queens."

There's still no word on when the Abigail Breslin 2015 project will be airing.
