Scream Queens Finale, Scary End Might Get Picked Up For Season 2

Scream Queens have already revealed the pain staking, teasing identity of the Red Devil Murderer. The high profile show raked in huge viewers and coincided with high expectations but the finale fell flat only bringing in an average number of viewers.

The two hour finale that aired on Tuesday night was only able to rake in 2.6 million viewers and a measley 0.9 from the coveted 18-49 demographic.

What does this mean for Scream Queens? Will it have a second season in the wings?

Fox has not yet announced if they will be picking up Scream Queens for a second season and it is unsure if the last episode's numbers will doom the possibility.

But there's always a silver lining, Scream Queens getting picked up for a second season looks like it is a possibility considering the total viewers hit 5.1 million and the demo rating currently holds 2.2. That doesn't include the additional 2.1 million audience outside the seven day window from streaming websites such as Hulu and Fox Now.

But the Red Devil has been found out already. The first season of Scream Queens wrapped its freshman season with unmasking Hester Ulrich, played by Lea Michele. Hester was the twin sister of Boone (played by Nick Jonas) who was also another Red Devil. Hester even tried to cover it up by stabbing herself in the eye but the Dean knows she is the killer.

What would boost the second season's story-line? Fox and Murphy are planning to reboot for season 2 which means there is a creative edge for the team to launch a new story line and a new cast. (So, this means no Red Devil? Who knows!).

If ever season two comes into fruition, Lea Michele is interested to come back as she has a great working relationship with creator Ryan Murphy. In an interview, she says "I think whatever he has in mind for season 2 would be incredible" but that doesn't really confirm that there is a season two in the making.

A summer camp theme was pitched previously on Fox but things change easily in the world of television, reports say.
