On Wednesday, December 9, Madonna gave a surprise performance at the Place de la République in Paris.

It is a spot where people continue to offer tributes of flowers and candles to the victims of the city's terrorist attack that resulted in the death of 130 people.

"I'm singing some songs in place de la Republique. Meet me there now #Paris. #rightnow #aftershow #rebelheartour," she tweeted.

Madonna Wore a down jacket with a fur hood over her head and accompanied by her son David Honor and her long-time guitarist Monte Pittman.

The 57-year-old, singer sang her hits "Like a Prayer" and "Ghosttown", as well as John Lennon's "Imagine," according to those who attended the concert.

Madonna has been vocal about her heartbreak over the attacks. In the midst of a November concert in Stockholm, Sweden, the Grammy winner broke down in tears while honoring victims.

One hundred and thirty people were killed in Paris when gunmen and suicide bombers carried out a series of attacks in the French capital.

"It's been very hard for me to get through this show up to this point and not forget about what happened last night, so I need to take this moment to acknowledge the tragedy. Madonna told the crowd. The tragic killings, assassinations and the senseless endings of precious life that occurred last night in Paris,"

"Why am I up here dancing and having fun when people are crying over the loss of their loved ones?" she added.

At her concert earlier on Wednesday evening, Madonna had wrapped herself in the French flag and sang the country's national anthem, La Marseillaise.
