Oh My Girl K-Pop Group Sent Back to Korea - Mistaken as Sex Workers?

The K-pop culture is taking the world by storm. It has been a great influence in today's generation. In fact, there are quite a number of K-pop bands that dominate the music scene internationally.

With the expectation of making an impact in the other countries' music industry, most bands bank on traveling. However in this case, the trip to the U.S. may not be the luckiest thing for the K-pop band, Oh My Girl.

It appears that the 8-member girl group was detained at the Los Angeles Airport, as reported on BBC news.

The K-pop group claims that they were allegedly not allowed to leave the airport because they were mistaken to be sex workers.

The group said in a statement that the customs employees scrutinized their luggage and costumes as reported in New York Daily news. They were believed to be sex workers. They were outraged because of this.

The girls' music label, WM Entertainment, said in a statement, "As young women, they were mistaken as 'working women' which has recently been a big issue in the U.S."

But based on a source, the officials in the airport say otherwise.

The K-pop band did not disclose the true purpose of their visit. The girls were initially granted tourist visas but they were found to be performers after their props and equipment were discovered in the baggage. Note to self-next time girls: being a performer from a different country requires a totally different type of visa.

One of the sources said, "They misrepresented themselves. In the baggage inspections they found all the props and equipment they used to perform. They finally confessed that they were coming to perform."

The sources also mentioned that the 'detention' of the group was nothing more but the wait for the next flight back to their country.

The girls simply gave up and flew back to Korea.
