Dick Van Dyke Celebrates 90th Birthday with Mary Poppins Flash Mob in LA [VIDEO]

Emmy and Tony award winner Dick Van Dyke has been known for singing along with Mary Poppins on the rooftops. The veteran actor and comedian "steps back in time" as he celebrates his 90th birthday this weekend in Los Angeles with a Mary Poppins flash mob.

The actor who turned 90 on Sunday graciously sang along and danced with a group pf chimney sweeps at the Grove on Saturday, the Daily Mail reports.

A group of dancers including Van Dyke's wife Arlene, 44, did a dance in flash mob style in the famous shopping centre before the actor. The steps were choreographed by the Spellman sisters.

The delighted actor who played Burt in 1964 Disney classic Mary Poppins joined the fans dressed in fancy Mary Poppins- themed costume for a rendition of even joined in for a rendition of Let's Go Fly A Kite.

Van Dyke expressed his gratitude to all the people behind the flash mob surprise on Twitter along with the video of the said birthday flash mob surprise shot by Trevor Perez of Disney Examiner: "I am very grateful that at 90 years old, I can still go out and play."

The Mary Poppins-themed flash mob surprised performed choreographed dances on the film's most memorable songs including "Jolly Holiday" and "Step in Time." Van Dyke taking on the role of the well-loved character of chimney sweep Burt performed those songs in the 1964 Disney classic.

Van Dyke is a recipient of five Emmys, a Tony and a Grammy. He was inducted into theTelevision Hall of Fame in 1995 and received the Screen Actors Guild's highest honor, the SAG Life Achievement Award, in 2013.

The veteran actor has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and been recognized as a Disney legend.
