According to earlier sources, Beyoncé Knowles has gotten herself a charming little movie role, according to the New York Post's Page Six column, and will appear in the "A Star Is Born" remake alongside its director Bradley Cooper. The film will be directed by Bradley Cooper after Clint Eastwood dropped out of the project in October 2012 due to a scheduling conflict.
This would mark the 40-year-old actor's feature directorial debut.
Cooper was reportedly attached to star in a fourth A Star Is Born film three years ago directed by Clint Eastwood.
There were rumors at the time that Eastwood also wanted Beyoncé to take on the role played by the late actress, Janet Gaynor in 1937, vaudevillian Judy Garland 1954 and most recently by singer-songwriter Barbra Streisand in 1976 with Kris Kristofferson.
Despite hopes that the project could go ahead, Cooper asserted that it is currently, "just a rumour", on Sunday, December 13 in an interview with E! News at the premiere of "Joy," the actor-producer added: "But with that said, I would be honored obviously with to work with her in any capacity."
"Joy" is an upcoming American biographical comedy-drama film written and directed by David O. Russell. The film is about a struggling single mom of three children. The film is scheduled to be released on December 25, 2015, by 20th Century Fox.
"A Star Is Born" is a 1975 film follows a film star, Norman Maine, who helps a young singer and actress, Vicki Lester/Esther Blodgett, find fame.
The "Destiny Child" singer would be starring as Vicki, which was previously played by Judy Garland in 1954 and Barbara Streisand in 1976.
Streisand did win the Academy Award for Best Orignal Song for the movie's theme Evergreen.
