When you talk about films, you can't help but include Star Wars to the list of your "must-watch movies" and of course who better to talk about this forever loved movie than the maker itself George Lucas.

Complete with Stormtroopers and lightsabers, Disney's much awaited "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" debuted with a star-studded premiere on Monday, and all the attention was at the person who started it all, the creator, George Lucas.

Considered to be one of the brilliant minds in the movie industry, Lucas, who gave life to characters like Darthvader, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca and the entire "Star Wars" series, was given a standing ovation by those who attended the premiere of his latest addition to his movie blockbusters as he sat next to his long-time collaborator Steven Spielberg.

The film director, J.J. Abrams explained that none of them would even be at the premiere if not for the miraculous creation of one man (Lucas). He thanked the man saying, "George Lucas, from the bottom of my heart, on behalf of everyone involved in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' thank you sir."

After years of waiting the film is set to be released on Friday. "The Force Awakens" follows life of a determined scavenger Rey (Daisy Ridley) and how her destiny weaved with a rebel Stormtrooper Finn (John Boyega) and a ball-like droid known as BB-8.

The film is set 30 years after "Return of the Jedi", which came out in 1983. The film also welcomed the return of franchise veterans Han Solo (Harrison Ford), General Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher), and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). Skywalker, who was not seen in any of the film's marketing was deliberately done to prevent divulge a twist in the movie's plot.

"The Force Awakens" is the first of a new trilogy and a new standalone film from the Lucasfilm studio after Lucas sold "Star Wars" to Disney in 2012 for $4.05 billion dollars.

A self-proclaimed "Star Wars" fanatic, film director J.J. Abrams told Reuters he felt pressured releasing the film into the world. He added saying that he definitely feels nervous showing his work to more than 1,000 people at the premiere. However, he said he feels very confident in the work he did and what the actors have done, so he knows the people will enjoy watching the actors' performance..

Hamill admitted that the film can't compare to the expectations of the devoted "Star Wars" fan base. He also said that it's only a movie, and if everyone thinks they're going to go into the movie and take back the viewers' childhood, then they'll probably be disappointed.
