Ludwig Van Beethoven Sheet Music Featured as the New Google Doodle

Google has come up with a very interesting way to relive Beethoven's works as reported in Time. The composer, one of the best in the world, celebrates his 245th birthday. Google wants to honor his musical creations through a Google Doodle that showcases his world-famous compositions.

The site started featuring the Doodle on the 16th of December, and will likely remain up until the 17th, the composer's baptismal date in 1770. There is no record about his actual birthday, but it was assumed that it was during this time.

What's fun about this type of Google doodle is that it is interactive. It is actually a game of puzzle. Those who discovered the Google doodle will find themselves arranging Beethoven's masterpieces in the right order. On his way to conduct the concert, he mixes up his pieces.

The puzzle exhibits the world-renowned compositions like the Moonlight Sonata and Ode to Joy. This is where the fun starts. After finishing a song, it will be harder for the players to put back the pieces together as the game continues.

It may appear to be a very ordinary game, but creating the idea was difficult. According to Google's team, they had been trying to spark ideas how to feature the composer's works for about two years. They wanted it to be unique - something that won't be comparable to other previous doodles.

Jordan Thompson, an engineer on the Google Doodle team said to Time, "We went through a lot of different prototypes for what we wanted a Beethoven doodle to be. But none of them really filled the role of what we wanted, which was to teach people about Beethoven and his music."

The team wanted to stick with the idea for educational purposes. Thompson says, "You can actually see the music notes, so you can get the concept of written music."
