Aretha Franklin Respect: The World’s Most Famous Soul Diva Launches Album Singing Fellow Divas’ Hits Like Adele’s Rolling in The Deep [VIDEO]

Aretha Franklin's respect is not something to frown upon once you get it - and in her newest album the soul diva has made it a point to let some of her favorite classic and current performers know she can be humble and pay homage to them, too. Aretha Franklin, of Respect fame, has released a new album called Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics, where she covers songs by some of the world's most popular classic and current divas of pop, soul and other kinds of music.

The famous singer, who has been one of the most recognizable faces in music for over four decades, has been out of the limelight lately as she's been battling an unknown disease since last year. However, as she goes back to the spotlight with a new album Aretha Franklin's respects are paid to many of the greatest female singers in the world, both classic and new. Her newest album features songs from past female singers as varied as Whitney Houston, Sinead O'Connor and even the recent soul diva Adele, who has her song Rolling In The Deep covered by Aretha.

While obviously gathering Aretha Franklin's respect, Adele's version of Rolling in the Deep has been tainted with controversy: the new cover has the soul diva's iconic voice being auto-tuned (or at least modified by a similar program), a first ever for Aretha. It's been said this is due to her current medical condition, which has had the diva in and out of medical treatments for the past year or so. Besides, because of her weight, she's been struggling with health issues for a while now.

After Aretha Franklin's Respect, she's gathered many years of praise for her vast work. She was the first woman indicted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and she took the first spot in Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the Greatest Singers of All Time.
