The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) annual Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive will take place tomorrow, May 11. It's the country's largest single-day food drive, collecting millions of pounds of food for those in need.

How You Can Help Fight Hunger

This year, join the fight against hunger by participating in the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive! Here's how:

  1. Leave non-perishable food donations by your mailbox on Saturday, May 11, before your mail arrives.

  2. Your letter carrier will pick up your donation.

  3. Volunteers will then distribute the collected food to local food pantries in your community.

Examples of the most requested food items include pasta, cereal, pasta sauce, canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, and canned proteins like tuna and chicken. Do not donate perishable items like fresh vegetables or fruit and ensure nothing donated is past its best-by date. And of course, make sure all boxes and cans are unopened.

Every can and box counts! By donating, you're helping to restock food banks that are often depleted by spring. This is especially crucial as school lunch programs close for the summer and winter holiday donations dwindle.

Join the movement and help Stamp Out Hunger in your community this May 11!
