The Imitation Game, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley will start showing on US cinemas on November 21.
The movie is based on the life of a British mathematician and logician named Alan Turing when he became one of the brilliant code-breakers on the outburst of Second World War. Turing played a vital role as a cryptanalyst decoding messages encrypted by the German enigma machine.
The Imitation Game tackles the interesting, inspiring life of Turing along with its complexities like his romantic relationship and marriage with his colleague Joan Clarke, played by Knightley and his struggles as a gay of a time when homosexuality was still a criminal offense.
On August 29, the movie was first seen in the Telluride Film Festival. Since then people were able to watch it at different film festivals across US, Canada and UK like the Toronto International Film Festival on September 9 and recently the London Film Festival on October 8 to name a few.
Moviegoers who have already watched the movie have been raving for the movie to be an Oscar bait that will surely catch many nominations. The Imitation Game's lead star, Cumberbatch has been also receiving several impressive feedbacks and reviews, most of them even rooting for the actor to have an Oscar for this movie. Cumberbatch have been nominated by various award-giving bodies and this year won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries for playing Sherlock in "Sherlock Holmes".
The Imitation Game is directed by Morten Tyldum with screenplay written by Graham Moore. It also features other British actors Matthew Goode, Mark Strong, Allen Leech and Rory Kinnear. The movie is presented by The Weinstein Company.
