Woman Survives Desert 5 Days: She Used Rocks as Pillows and Bushes as Shelter

Woman Survives Desert 5 Days- A 79-year-old woman was found in the desert after five days that she's been lost on her way to a casino.

On Sunday afternoon, Ethel Crescenzo was located after a silver alert was escalated in the Phoenix area. Apparently, somebody reported seeing her white 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo with the personalized "ETHEL" license plate. Following a helicopter search, the woman was found 300 yards away from her vehicle.

According to the family of woman survives desert 5 days, she was last seen on Oct.14 preparing to go to her favorite casino spot in Scottsdale. On her way to the casino, she lost her direction that instead of heading to East towards Scottsdale, she turned to West at the California border. She had gone astray in Sonoran Desert North of Surprise.

"This is a miracle, because honestly - should she be here today? No. There's no doubt, it's a miracle," Crescenzo's son said in an interview. "I will say this in the very beginning, she is very poor on directions," he stated.

Woman survives desert 5 days by using rocks as her pillows and bushes as her protection. Although it is very hard for a 79-year-old woman to survive such suffering, she made it until she was found alive on Sunday. She sustained some scrapes, bruises and is also suffering from dehydration.

When the woman survives desert 5 days was asked how she did it she said, she just stayed cool in the desert while waiting for somebody to rescue her. Her son feels so happy to see her back and is so grateful that her mom is alive.

"All I can say about it is thank you for bringing momma home," her son said.

The woman survives desert 5 days is presently confined in a local Arizona hospital for her treatment of minor wounds and dehydration.
