Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake were recently the subject of a press controversy, after the young power couple lodged the defamation claim at the High Court in Dublin, Ireland, according to BBC News.
The Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake suit had Bauer Consumer Media, the publishers behind Heat, charged with defamation after the magazine published a story saying that the couple was having problems, as they also had pictures of Timberlake partying after a concert and reportedly misbehaving away from his two year-long marriage to Biel.
The Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake issue was a fairly big one, as the magazine not only posted pictures but also created an entirely fictional story, featuring quotes from the actress that had never been made and prompting the couple to take legal action.
As the magazine is European, Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake were told that they could file the lawsuit anywhere within the borders of the European Union, and so they decided they would do so in a Dublin court.
According to E! News, the couple managed a huge moral victory later on, as the magazine publicly apologized for the article, releasing an official statement that was later read on the courthouse.
"On 6th-12th September edition of heat magazine, the Defendant published an article under the headlines 'Justin Timberlake gets flirty with another woman,' 'It is not his wife!" and 'The flirty photos that rocked Justin and Jessica's marriage,'" the statement read "The article was based on an unfounded report regarding Justin Timberlake's alleged behavior at a club following a performance in Paris, to celebrate a birthday and also included a number of purported statements improperly attributed to Jessica Biel, which heat now understands had never been made by her."
Now that everything is clear with the media, Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake can go back to their happy family life!
