Squarespace Recreate Famous Paintings - Recreations are not something new, but to do those on Instagram and with almost no editing? That's truly remarkable and what two co-workers at Squarespace have been doing.
Said co-workers are called Francesco Fragomeni and Chris Limbrick and they work at Squarespace, the web design company which has offices in New York.
Fragomeni and Limbrick now have an account called FoolsDoArt in both Instagram and Tumblr since a month ago, exactly. But how did it all start?
The first re-creation was of Michelangelo's "The Creation of Adam" from the Sistine Chapel. Apparently, both co-workers were sitting on a couch at work and Limbrick was poking Fragomeni.
Someone grabbed a phone, snapped a picture of the gesture and somehow it ended up morphing into them recreating the painting.
"We didn't initially think anything of it. Chris ended up texting the photo to his mom, who then stitched our shot with a photograph from the Sistine Chapel and texted it back to Chris. When we saw that, it was a big 'Aha!' moment," The Washington Post noted.
After this, the re-creations took a toll and didn't stop. The most remarkable detail is that they have certain rules to do the re-creations: "the only rules are all the props must be things found in the office and all editing must be done on a phone (Android or Iphone)."
For the last month, both co-workers have been re-creating famous paintings which include: Caravaggio's "David With the Head of Goliath," Jacques-Louis David's "Napoleon Crossing The Alps," and Leonardo Da Vinci's "Mona Lisa," of course.
The only weird or bizarre facts are that horse and unicorn heads appear repeatedly and it's quite particular to have those lying around in the office, but the entire project is particular on itself, so it's more a matter of watching and enjoying.
