FedEx Driver Gets Shot And Police Frantically Search For Suspect

FedEx Driver Gets Shot - The unfortunate event took place on Thursday evening as an employee drove a FedEx Ground 18-wheeler and got shot by an identified man.

Said man shot the FedEx driver with a high-powered rifle, Fox Memphis reported. The shooting happened on Holmes, near Malone in South Memphis at around 4:40 p.m. approximately.

Now, investigators are trying to find the suspect and work countless hours to do so. The suspect was described as a 35 to 40 year-old black man, and he was last seen wearing a Dallas Cowboys jacket.

"We need some kind of change here in Memphis. He just doing his job, he wasn't expecting that. Now his family has to suffer tonight," said Carlos Jackson, who lives around the area where the shooting took place and WMC Action News 5 noted.

FedEx also released a statement regarding the matter.

"Our first thoughts and concerns are with our colleague and we are cooperating fully with the law enforcement investigation."

The suspect is said to be driving an either gray or silver 2002 Chrysler Town & Country minivan, which has a Tennessee license plate that reads 633-YKY, according to WREG.

The FedEx driver wasn't identified publicly, but it was released that he was taken to the Regional Medical Center on Thursday in critical conditions and now is in a stable condition.

One detail that wasn't revealed was the fact if the driver and the shooter knew one another at all.

The police asked that if anyone has any sort of information regarding the suspect or the situation to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.

This unfortunate situation isn't the first shooting that involves a FedEx worker. Back in July, another FedEx employee was shot and died afterwards.

Luckily, in this case, the driver is now in a stable condition.
