New Mom Cop Killed [+SHOCKING] A Day Before She Welcomes Her Newborn To Their Home

A 29-yar-old new mom cop killed in the line of duty while chasing a suspect in Omaha, Nebraska. The new mom cop killed will not be able to see her baby, who was born premature, and is set to be released from the Omaha hospital on Thursday.

It was a great loss for the fugitive task force team in which Officer Kerrie Orozco, the new mom cop killed was a member. The 29-year-old Orozco passed away while being cared by the at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center doctors after the 1 p.m. shooting on Wednesday.

"(The baby) is set to be released from the hospital tomorrow," Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer said. "She was a tremendous officer and even better person. I just can't imagine that this has even happened."

The new mom cop killed was gunned down after a suspect opened fire as he was fleeing in the Florence neighborhood in North Omaha. The suspect identified as 26-year-old Marcus Wheeler, who also sustained gunshots after the fugitive task force team returned shots also died in the same hospital, Newsmax reports.

Wheeler, who was charged for earlier shooting in Omaha tried to escape while a felony arrest warrant was being served to him on Wednesday.

The new mom cop killed was only waiting a day to see and be with her baby who was born premature. However, that chance would no longer happen.

The 29-year-old new mom cop killed had served the Omaha police for more than 7 years. During those times, she was a popular and accomplished officer, where being bilingual Spanish speaker had helped her most in the job.

Orozco was a baseball coach at an Omaha Boys and Girls Club, president of the Police Officers' Ball to benefit the Special Olympics, Girl Scout leader, and Special Olympics volunteer, the CNN reports.

The officers at the Omaha police have nothing but praises for Orozco who they claimed was a "beloved for her generosity and spirit."

The new mom cop killed was being admired by the Omaha police community and all those people whom she had touched their lives.  By midday, a fund amounting to over $75,000 was raised to help her family.

Orozco was a new mom to Olivia Ruth, who was born on Feb. 17. She was also a stepmom to two children- a boy and a girl.

The new mom cop killed, Orozco is survived by her husband, Hector Orozco, her daughter, Olivia Ruth, two stepchildren ages 6 and 7, her mother, and two siblings.
