It was announced by Comedy Central that Trevor Noah would become the host of the Daily Show, on September 28th 2015. Trevor Noah as the host for the upcoming "Daily Show" said that the targets of his program will still be the politics and the media, but the show's perspective will be distinctively his.
On Tuesday night, after Trevor Noah's appearance and stand-up performance on the Late Late Show in Los Angeles, Trevor said that his campaign for the new era of Comedy Central's flagship is in full swing. Comedy Central which is owned by Viacom Music and Entertainment Group is an American basic cable and satellite television channel.
As Trevor Noah will kick off his Daily Show hosting duties on September 28th, Noah stated, "The way you approach a story, the way you look at a story depends on your points of view," Noah also said, "The way you look at comedy depends on your points of view. So Jon Stewart is a white 52-year-old Jewish guy that grew up in Jersey. I am a 31 year old half-black, half-white South African who has lived in America for a few years on and off. So the way we would look at the same story would be completely different."
Noah said that, regarding the terms of content on the show, he will still be dealing with the same issues. Noah will be using his angle in handling the show, even though the issues in America and in the world are not changing.
Trevor Noah stated, "If you look at the issues in America right now, let's say just around racial inequality, Jon and I come from two totally different points of view," Noah also said, "Jon would have to empathize. I, myself, come from a different place, and I guess it would be the same for him on different issues as well. When it comes to Mike Huckabee commenting on leading Jewish people to the ovens, Jon would come at it from a very different place than I would because I'm more of an outsider into that world and he isn't."
