Snoop Dogg Stopped At The Airport By The Italian Police Due To $422,000 Cash Stuffed In His Bag

Snoop Dogg was stopped by the Italian police for questioning after he was found carrying a $422,820 in U.S. cash while trying to board a private jet at the Calabria airport on Saturday.

Earlier this week the 43 year old rapper arrived in Italy, where he is slated to perform in the village of Montepaone. As he tried to leave Italy, the rapper/actor was stopped by the police after they found a large stash of cash when he trying to board a private plane headed towards Britain, where is due for a gig fat Kendal Calling Festival on Sunday.

According to a source, when police questioned him about the $422,820 cash he was carrying, Snoop Dogg told the investigators that the money was to pay his band for the gigs, CNN reports.

To prevent money laundering, passengers traveling through Italy are only allowed to carry up to $11,010.25 cash.

After questioning, police confiscated half of the rapper's fund or a total amount of $205,000.

The lawyer, who is representing the rapper, Andrea Parisi told Reuters on Saturday, "We clarified everything from a legal point of view. The money came from concerts he had performed around Europe. There was no crime; it was just an administrative infraction."

The confiscated cash will be returned to the rapper but will be deducted for the fine, which still needs to be determined.

Last week, Snoop Doog was also held by the Swedish police on suspicion of possessing drugs, when he had given a concert in Uppsala.

The rapper then expressed to tweeter his anger, he wrote, "2 all my Sweden fans U can blame YA police dept for never seeing me again in your beautiful country."

The arrest was then described by the rapper as "racial profiling," which was quickly denied by the Swedish police.
