'Spider-Man' Reboot Update: Will Tom Holland's Peter Parker Have Another Origin Story? Who Is The New 'Spider-Man' Villain? [VIDEO]

It looks like the upcoming 'Spider-Man' reboot is well on the way, and will be different from the previous incarnations of Peter Parker's alter ego.

Grantland recently spoke to 'Spider-Man' script writers Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley about their project 'Vacation,' but also managed to get a few scoops about Peter Parker's latest film.

Goldstein and Daley confirmed that the movie will see the young superhero trying to balance high school and saving the world.

"We want to explore the fact that just because you get superpowers doesn't really make you into a sophisticated, successful adult," Goldstein said. "He's still a kid, and he's clumsy, and he's a geek, and he's a bit of an outcast. And in many ways, the superpowers amplify that, and exacerbate his trying to fit in."

"He has one more secret that he has to keep from the world, one more burden that he's dealing with, above all the other crap that he's dealing with at school. So it's going to be fun," Daley said.

The 'Spider-Man' reboot initially got mixed reactions from fans who were not quite ready to see Peter Parker's Uncle Ben get killed off one more time. Luckily, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein will be doing away with the usual backstory.

"I think everybody feels like, you know he got bit by a spider and you know Uncle Ben died, and we probably don't need to revisit that," Goldstein said.

One of the most important things that people want to know about the reboot would somehow touch upon Spider-Man's extensive Rogues Gallery. Who will be the Spider-Man villain in the film?

"We're bringing Lex Luthor over to battle Spider-Man," Goldstein joked.

"And Godzilla," Daley added.

The 'Spider-Man' reboot will star Tom Holland and will be directed by Jon Watts. The film is scheduled for release in 2017.
