The Weeknd Places No. 1, Followed By Selena Gomez In Latest Billboard Artist 100 List

Two of today's bigges artists in the music industry, The Weeknd and Selena Gomez, who are both busy working on several projects for the year, are continuously soaring high in several music charts, particularly in the Billboard Artist 100 list. In the latest tally, The Weeknd ruled at the top spot, followed by Selena Gomez finishing at second place.

The Weeknd's 'Beauty Behind the Madness' lead track, "The Hills" has taken the lead on the U.S single music charts during its fifth week, putting Drake's "Hotline Bling" next to it.

According to Billboard, "The Hills" was losing the game when Abel Tesfaye played for a double performance of "The Hills" and "Can't Feel My Face" with remixes from two of the rap industry's biggest stars, Eminem and Nicki Minaj, leaving the song with a 93% boost in sales which pushed the song to reach the top spot.

Selena Gomez on the other hand, who just announced the other week that she will be hitting her worldwide "Revival Tour" in 2016, reached at no. 2 on the Billboard Artist 100.

"I am ready to get back on the road and see my fans in person!" the 23-year old "Cool for the Summer" hit-maker said in a statement. "This album marks a new and very important chapter in my life. I cannot wait to get on stage and perform this new material."

Besides getting herself ready for next year's big world tour, Gomez has just debuted her new album "Revival" last October 9, Friday, adding that the album's lead track "Good For You" has recently topped the Top 40 Radio Charts thrice in just a few weeks.

The Billboard Artist Top 100 is a mixed data from different albums and track sales, radio airplay, music streaming and social media fan interaction, which provides a weekly tally of the artist's popularity.
