The Most Overpriced Food On Your Menu Revealed By Top Chefs

Some restaurants are letting you pay for food that seems to be so simple yet cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars, but the thing is, are they even worth the price?

Maybe some food are truly a specialty and thus are rarely produce or gathered but to pay for a simple pizza or hamburger for hundreds of dollars is just plain ludicrous.

Some chefs have revealed the most overpriced food in the world and here they are:

KOBE BEEF

It's not a secret that the beef coming from the Kobe raised cows are expensive and these cows actually live the life before they become food for consuming. The "Kobe" name itself is being taken advantage by some restaurants by calling it American-style "Kobe" and selling it at $35 an oz! And that is just ridiculous and overpriced.

SPICY TUNA ROLL

According to one of the owners of a restaurant, spicy tuna rolls are made up of leftover tuna that are bathed in spicy sauce to cover the taste! OH MY!

FRIED CALAMARIS

When one buys a calamaris, they're probably buying fried flour.

TRUFFLES

The truth is truffle oil is as diluted as vanilla and that most of that truffle oil are chemically engineered. Still, if restaurants do use real truffles, paying $58 for it is not worth it.

BOTTLED WATER

Well there you go, the most common, most sought after, and most consumed in the entire world, it is overpriced. The fancy filtration system that specific brand is using is just for the sake of overpricing their products.

CHICKEN ENTREES THAT COST OVER $25

The cheese used on the chicken costs more than the chicken itself because according to some chefs, a pound of chicken just costs them a few dollars.

So when the menu has fancy names on it, mind that the name costs more than the food being served.
