Venezuela McDonalds Sells French Fries At $133; Burgers Don't Have Lettuce and Tomatoes

The Venezuelan people are currently in one of its most depressed times ever. The country has been in an economic crisis ever since oil prices plummeted.

Venezuela is a country depended on the oil, and when prices for oil went to a historical low, the country's economy went into an all-time low.

Even a simple object such as a table napkin has becomes so expensive in the country

Now the McDonalds French Fries are making headlines after news came out that it was being sold for 800 Bolivars or $133! That is a lot for an order of large fries.

McDonalds had their French fries off the menu for almost 10 months and although the food chain did bring it back to the Venezuelan McDonalds restaurants the price is just ridiculous.

For $133 one can buy an order of fries.

The reason behind this unreasonable price for the fries is because of the fact the government of Venezuela put an order to get potatoes from Venezuelan farmers rather than importing them.

For a time even Venezuelan McDonalds substituted their French fries for a cassava derived French fries.

There are black markets "French fries" that the Venezuelans can get hold on and it costs $1.15, it might sound measly for a large order of fries but according to Fusion that amount is already 10 percent of the minimum wage of the country.

Social media has taken this news into their hands, both amused and depressed by the state that the country is in.

One twitter user twitted a message saying: "Venezuela: The country where McDonald selling French fries is breaking news."

Not only the French fries have become so horrendously expensive, even the burgers don't have lettuce and tomatoes in them, which reflects a lot on the state of the country.

Bloomberg revealed that even a pack of condoms have become so scarce in the country, they sell for around $755.
