Bruce Forsyth Recovering After Surgery For Aneurysm

Bruce Forsyth has returned home to rest after a short stay in the hospital. The 'Strictly Come Dancing' host underwent a successful operation on an abdominal aortic aneurysm, last Thursday, November 12.

His manager Ian Wilson said in a statement that the procedure was a complete success and Bruce is expected to recover after a much-needed rest to recuperate.

Wilson has assured fans that he’s doing well after the procedure, saying: “It is anticipated, given the minimally invasive nature of this operation, he will make a speedy recovery."

An aneurysms can occur in any blood vessel, it may be in the circle of Willis in the brain, in the thoracic and abdominal aorta or within the heart itself.

Bruce Forsyth's condition was reported to have been discovered during his full medical check up after suffering a recent fall.

His manager has been quick to insist that Bruce's aneurysm has no connection in any way with the fall itself. According to him, the TV legend even recorded 'Strictly Come Dancing's Children in Need' special with Tess Daly, which aired on November 13, proving that Forsyth was doing just fine.

Bruce teamed up with Daly on the Children In Need Special, and presented Call The Midwife star Laura Main and professional dancer Brendan Cole with their trophy following their win for the night.

The star seemed on good form during the charity version of the dancing competition, which saw the cast of Call The Midwife go head-to-head.

A BBC representative has also claimed that the recent surgery won’t affect the veteran presenter’s planned appearance on the annual ‘Strictly’ festive show, adding: “We anticipate that Bruce will still very much be a part of the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Christmas Special.”

Bruce Forsyth stepped down as the main host of the celebrity dance contest in 2013 but continues to return for special episodes.
