Carol Vadnais, who was 68 already, passed away yesterday, Sunday 31st of August of cancer.
Carol Marcel Vadnais had been born in 1945, in Montreal. He was first a forward and only later became part of the defense team. He started playing with the Montreal Jr. Canadiens and then went to NHL training camp, where he was left as first lineup for the Montreal Canadiens.
In 1968 he became part of the Oakland Seas and not long after he was not just a part of the team, but their Captain. While he was there, the team won repeteadly and it didn't take more than five years until he moved in 1972 to the Boston Bruins.
That same year, they won the Stanley Cup, so Carol Vadnais made a beneficial twist for the team.
Later on, only three years later, he was acquired as a New York Ranger in 1975.
In the NHL, he played 1087 games, scoring 169 goals. He also helped out in many games to assist others and was all in all, a beloved player.
He retired in 1983 from playing and due to the love for the game and the knowledge he already possessed, he trained to be an Assistant Coach for two years, followed by becoming the Head Coach of the Verdun Junior Canadiens. He stayed there for one year, only.
After this, he did a definite retirement from Hockey and worked as a Real Estate Agent.
Lots of fans mourn over his death and one points out, "A pretty good player with some offensive pop. Won a Cup with the 72 Bruins, was on the loaded 76 Canada Cup Team and was very good for the 79 Rangers that made a miracle run to the finals."
Carol played for several different teams and in which one of them he did not only play, but he made the team succeed every single time.
