One of the big actors these days in Hollywood is Hugh Jackman. He had his big break in 2000 with X-Men playing Wolverine and since then, has been casted in major movies such as Swordfish (2001), Scoop (2006), The Fountain (2006), The Prestige (2006), Les Miserables (2012) and all the X-Men Franchise. But more often than once, we wonder, who has been with him all along?
The apple of his eye, his wife. Her name is Deborra Lee-Furness and is an Aussie like Hugh as well. And guess what else? An Actress! Go figure.
How did they meet? Well, that's a bit of a funny story. They met on the Corelli set where they acted together. Correlli was a TV series shot in 1995 that lasted for only one season. Hugh Jackman played a prisoner and his wife, Deborra a psychologist that entered the male prison to treat the men there. Nice start for a romance!
From there, Hugh Jackman has said to Biography Today, "Meeting my wife was the greatest thing to come out of it." He was 26 at the time, and she was 39. They dated for one year before becoming husband and wife, Hugh Jackman and Deborra Lee-Furness revealed to Town & Country in the October issue last year.
Apparently, she was famous before he was. Being not only older but having the main role in Correlli, while he was a novice. According to the note they made on their love story, they chased each other while he ignored her in the beginning in the set and she told him that he had a "childish behavior," one thing led to another and before they knew it, they were husband and wife.
She has been Hugh Jackman's wife since 1996 and his big breaks in movies came afterwards. She has been not only an Actress, but a Producer, Director and Writer several projects. Currently, she has been doing the "Primal Perry" voice in Phineas and Ferb.
They have two children together, Oscar Maximilian born in 2000 and Ava Eliot, born in 2005.
In Hugh Jackman's words about his wife, "It gets better every year." We are sure it does, as their marriage has stood for 18 years already and counting!
