I Know What you did Last Summer two set for a Release

It's official, Sony Pictures has run out of ideas and is now making a remake of 'I know What You Did Last Summer.' Apparently Sony is keen on taking us back to the summer no one should forget about through a remake of the popular nineties movie.

Anyone who grew up in the nineties or is at least even half a horror fan has watched the original movie. The Movie was based on the summer experience of four teens, acted by Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Ryan Phillipe. The four teens run over a pedestrian and decided, in their ingenuity, or lack of, to dispose of the body in water. When they think they are safe, they receive an anonymous letter with the message, "I know what you did last summer." Their actions continue to haunt them since.

The film was written by popular movie series "Scream" writer Kevin Williamson, who was adapting a script from the already popular book by Lois Duncan by the same title.

The nineties film grossed more than $125 million worldwide and gave birth to two more sequels:  I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and later I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer. Can we please get over that summer already!

Sony Pictures is so serious about the movie that it has recruited Mike Flanagan, writer and director of the movie 'Oculus,' a 2014 horror film that grossed $40 million worldwide on a $12 million budget. Flanagan will partner with Jeff Howard to bring out the 1973 book once more. There is currently no word on the director but Sony is reportedly fast tracking the movie for a 2016 release date.

The remake will be a God-send for the "Bring back the nineties" mid life crisis crowd but I doubt it will be as much of a hit as the original. We will keep you posted on the details as they emerge.
